The best thing of travel is coming upon unexpected beauty:

The next best thing is to be all grown up and not have your Father shoot down your hopes of visiting "a tourist trap:"

Revisit your inner child bursting with delight and curiosity when the shop girl demonstrates how to make a shaved ice dessert (youtube.com). This is a peaches and cream: peach syrup then sweetened condensed milk is squirted on for an extra 25 cents.

While Sno Biz offers shaved ice and ice cream treats, they are also a source for Mississippi Delta Hot Tamales. Luckily for me I visited them on their last day of operation for this year. It also meant they were sold out of tamales.

The sno-cone maker reminded me of Parker Posey in "Waiting for Guffman." Charlie Rose couldn't have handled that interview better; how was the finished product?
