New Orleans Dec 2009

Just returned from three days in the Crescent City. Some great new finds for us: Stanley on Jackson Square is awesome breakfast served all day. Get the eggs benedict Po' Boy. Dinner at Gautreau's showed us some of the best front of house service, and deelicious seasonal french fare. NOLA was down a few notches since our visit before the storm, I would go to Lilette or Stella (sister to Stanley) instead. But AUGUST wins my prize this trip. Best all around winner of our three days. John Besh changes everything with the seasons, and the food is amazing. The town feels like it's all BACK, the music, the crowds, the characters...and the Saints in the playoffs. Weather is 50's, easy for us to take. And the brisk walks help walk off the great meals.
