Heading to Philly for a day trip to see the Barnes Collection next month.

I don't have a love for Tastykake. I don't have to eat at a vegetarian only restaurant.

Thoughts on where to go & what to eat? Dinner Wednesday night & Breakfast/Lunch on Thursday.

I loved Amada in what I think is called the Chestnut Hill neighborhood. I'm not a Philly expert but ate at this place several times over the course of 2 trips last year and if you're there on your own, they have bar seating along the open kitchen that was fun. (cute...uh I mean TALENTED chefs...) Can't speak for the veg only options but there was a focus on seafood so depending on your particular observance, this might be a good fit. It's one of the Garces group restaurants, although I will say that I enjoyed Amada more than my trip to Mercat here so take that for what it's worth. Enjoy

In a short trip to Philly last fall I was able to eat at both Zahav and Capogiro, and enjoyed both quite a bit. At Zahav, I remember the Crispy Haloumi and Fried Cauliflower as standouts.
