So I hear the bloggers, the bikers, even the heroin chic models all think that on one day or another Motorino is the best pizza in New York - all subjective information at best; and who knows maybe they were talking about the original Brooklyn location I didn't have the time or wherewithal to go to.
Still - on late Sunday afternoon what I knew for sure while eating in this tiny, brimming with all walk of New Yorker, establishment - is that this pizza - the classic Margherita - had a lot of perfect going on. From the all at the same time chewy, airy and crispy crust, to the shockingly robust thin slick of tomato sauce under the bufula mozzarella - this was surely one pie to remember. We wanted to order another pizza, but didn't have room and had plans to eat later as well.
Overall the place has a nice unpretentious everybody get along vibe with casual service - probably due to the close quarters everyone endures to scarf down this delicious pizza.
