Stumbled upon Fairview Farms while reading up on places to eat in Peoria. Been around since the 1950's, formerly a working farm, family owned... Yes to all three.
The original farmhouse built in 1898 is still a part of the restaurant. Been serving fried chickne since 1952. 3 different generations of the same family working the spot with varying degrees of success. Found Fairview Farms just north of the airport nestled in a subdivision that used to be the farm before 1952. Almost didnt come for dinner since they
dont serve alcohol, but then thought, these cats must be good if they have been around that long not serving some libations. Glad we went. Had to do some other stuff to wait for their 4:30 p.m. opening. Cars started stacking up in the parking lot when we arrived @ 4:20.

Family style dining is their thing, big bowls of ayce fried chicken(or other meats), housemade mashed, green beans, etc.). Items made in house are touted, their house dressing is a tangy French dressing, their rolls, the mashed, the gravy, and the corn fritters are all made in house. Price for family style is like $12.95 and up. We went with plated dinners, 1/4 light fried chix($9.95, & their house cured ham. Served with the mashed and a crock of the rich chicken gravy, green beans, salad, rolls, and corn fritters.
Fried chicken was a really solid version, nice crust, juicy meat, sorry for the bad pic:

Ham was good as well:

THe corn fritters were awesome, usually not my thing, these were still hot from the fryer, nice light crunch to the exterior, light and not greasy. Ate 3 of these:

We left here stuffed.
