I'm going to be driving through Champaign tomorrow about the same time as the US Women's Olympic soccer game and I'd like to find a bar that's reasonably close to I-57 that has decent food and TVs so that I can watch the game before continuing downstate. Any suggestions? I'm hoping there's some U of I grads on this forum who can steer me in the right direction.
    Thanks!

Nothing in Champaign/Urbana is that far from the expressway, so don't let that limit you.

Jupiter's Pizza (two locations - decent thin crust pizza)

Guidos - fairly standard sports bar/grill in downtown Champaign.
2 East Main Street, Champaign, IL
    (217) 359-3148

Desthil (Nice brewery with decent food. The bar area has TVs.)
301 North Neil Street, Champaign, IL
    (217) 356-0301 ‎

Unfortunately, the best sports bar in town, Jillian's, closed.

I'd suggest Huber's - a neighborhood joint with good pub grub, lots of TV's and ice-cold Old Style on tap*:

    1312 West Church Street
    Champaign, IL 61821
    (217) 352-0606

Not too far from I-57 either. Exit University Avenue and head toward downtown, left at Sabin or Russell (two N/S streets on either side of a park) one block north and look for Hubers across from the NW corner of the park. To get back to I-57, head west on Church and look for the signs.

*for Chicagoans ice-cold Old Style on tap might be everyday - for me it's a special treat :)

Shoot...we were closed an on a Mission trip in Nicaragua or I would have bought you lunch at our place. Yeah, about 15 minutes off of I57, but down here we know you should be running on Rt 47 anyway! Next time!
