Had the pleasure of visiting Shapiro's Deli in Indianapolis with my 2 sons and assorted fiance's and girlfriend. I would say that it's on a par with Manny's in Chicago. Famous for its corned beef sandwiches, Shapiro's also makes one fine corned beef omelet at breakfast time. Hot corned beef on thick slabs of Shapiro's own rye bread: there's no better deli sandwich. This deli has been around for 100 years. They must be doing something right.

David -- You aren't the only fan of Shapiro's around here. And IMHO, Shapiro's is far better than Manny's with regard to the sandwiches, although I think Manny's might have an edge on some of the hot items, such as the short ribs.
