On impulse yesterday I picked up some at the Peterson/Cicero Whole Foods. I love blue cheese from very mild to very sharp and everything in between. Rogue River Smokey falls somewhere in the middle in terms of strength. It had a very nice nutty flavor, wasn't aggresively salty and while you could detect the smokiness that the name implies, it was not overwhelming. I tossed it in a salad tonight with arugula, Belgian endive, radicchio, toasted walnuts, red D'Anjou pears, and Champagne vinaigrette. It was a wonderful combination. The cheese was not cheap ($9.03 for .43lb,) but it was a very nice treat.
