I like to drink a lot of water and I keep a 1 Liter bottle in my car that I constantly refill. Last week, my beloved Crystal Geyser bottle with a sport cap was inadvertently thrown out at the car wash. I've been unable to find a replacement bottle of water in that size with a sport cap. All of them seem to have a standard screw top cap. If anyone happens to spot any store selling such a beast, please post here. Thanks.

You can usually buy the sport tops separately, or just buy a small sport top bottle as cheaply as possible and buy another 1l bottle of water and swap the tops :)

Actually, the threads between brands, or even different sized bottles of the same brand are not standardized and if you don't have the proper fit, water leaks all over your shirt. (don't think I haven't already tried this)

    Hi Steve,

I own more water bottles than any reasonable human being should. I would recommend a 1L SIGG bottle for you with a sports cap. It's made out of aluminum and therefore durable, but it's also 100% recyclable. The liner also helps minimize bacteria build-up. A SIGG is a good investment.

You can read more about the history and manufacture of SIGGs here. It looks like EMS has both the 1L bottle and the sports cap (which you'd have to buy separately). SIGGs are also available from Amazon and dozens of other places online. I know that Whole Foods and Uncle Dan's camping stores also have them.

Thanks for the lead, happy_stomach. I actually had success in finding a replacement Crystal Geyser sport top bottle at a Buttera I encountered on Lawrence Ave west of Austin. Next time I lose my bottle, one of those SIGGs may be in my future, although now that I have found a source for the CG water, an .89 replacement doesn't sound half bad, either.
