I saw something at Jewel the other day that I had never seen before. It was called "bread cheese" and was fairly expensive, like $13 a pound. I almost bought it because I'm always looking for new things that I think my daughter will eat - she loves bread and she loves cheese .. so! But I didn't buy it because of the price and when I got home I looked it up. Turns out to be quite interesting, and something that was way off of my food radar. The wikipedia entry calls it "Leipäjuusto" or "Finnish squeaky cheese" because it squeaks against your teeth as you eat it. There are also some rather interesting ideas for using it, like putting a couple of chunks in a cup and pouring coffee over it! Calling All Starbucks! New Product Alert!
Just throwing this topic out there - has anyone eaten this!?

A few months ago we had some discussion of the cheese here.

I found some at the Evanston Farmer's Market last week (the Brunkow stuff mentioned in the other thread) and plan to grill it up tonight! Thanks for the reminder!

Sorry! I did a search (obviously not very well!) and it didn't come up!

Clearly, there are a lot of names for this stuff, making it difficult to search for!
