Only something special could have led me to take my name off the wait-list for the sure-to-be fabulous
pig roast at Sun Wah. That special something was the bounty of gorgeous colors that has just entered our local farmer's markets.
Check out this rainbow from this morning's trip to Green City:

wild arugula (bitingly sharp today)
oregano
chives
yellow swiss chard
farm eggs
chestnut chips
squash blossoms (from
City Farm stand, not Green City)
orange and purple carrots
blueberries
cherries
There's no way I'm eating anywhere but home today! The rough menu has:
- wild arugula and sweet cherry salad, lightly dressed with lemon and olive oil, topped with chestnut chips
- homemade squash blossom ravioli with herb butter
- yellow chard sauteed with garlic
- Prairie Fruits Farm goat milk ricotta topped with blueberries and a drizzle of artisan honey
I'll miss the pig, but just a little.
