Post #3 - October 18th, 2008, 2:23 pmI have seen Leyden at Whole Foods in the past, but I haven't been in one recently.
In the Netherlands, this cumin-studded cheese is called either komijnekaas (cumin cheese) or Leidsekaas (Leiden cheese). When I visited there, it was ubiquitous at breakfast, so much so that we started calling it ontbeit kaas (breakfast cheese).

Post #4 - October 18th, 2008, 4:01 pmRight on. To my grandma, this is "Dutch Breakfast Cheese." Whole Foods seems to stock it right before holidays - Easter, Rosh/Yom, T-giving, Christmas/Hanukkah. River Forest WF had it two weeks ago.
