candied buddha's hand

The same day we got in Buddha's Hand a customer threw cheese at me, but that's another story for another forum.

I'm a dipshit so when the produce manager asked us at the morning convocation if anyone was familiar with this citron, I foolishly nodded.

They list it as a "lemon," which, of course it isn't.

The much storied citron, Buddha's Hand, actually frightens some workers. Sigh.

I think I'm the only person that's bought one, they store them incorrectly, and customers delight in breaking off the lobes. However, at 4.98 a fruit, a bargain's to be had...

I got a couple, sliced them thinly across the entire yielding gorgeous, Mod-ish, amoebas, cooked them in double-strength simple syrup, fished them out of the molten mass, rested them on wax paper, dusted them with longpepper/aleppo pepper/fleur de sel/castor sugar.
