I'm not a daily tea drinker, but I do like it. Black, green, herbal...I enjoy all types. While suffering through this past week with Strep throat, I drank a small river's worth of herbal. I reached a point where even my usual favorite, peppermint, seemed too harsh on my throat. That's when I gave this tea a try:

It's a Polish fennel tea. Based on my very unscientific, one-person's experience, I highly recommend it as a sore throat soother. As you can perhaps see from this next shot, I don't think there's anything but fennel seeds in the tea bag, so I'll probably just use an infuser and my own seeds instead of buying another box, but that's not something I would have thought of on my own.

I also like this blend (apologies for the flash effect):

I call it "pizza" tea, because somehow it's blend of thyme, sage, and mint remind me of pizza sauce. In a good way - really. Try it.

I buy Polish Teas at the Family Fruit Market. They're cheap too! -Lynn

All the great scientific discoveries began with a one-person experience, so you may be on to something. However I would suggest not getting strep again to test out your theory...get in a control group

I remember as a kid my great gran making us a tea when we had the mumps. It had lemon, apple cider vinegar, cayenne, and honey. Not sure how much of everything was in it, but I do remember always asking for more lemon. You could taste the essence of the pepper, but it wasn't super hot. It was quite tasty and would make you feel warm all over, but that could have been the pepper.

Yeah i agree with you. You are right.
All of these three things lemon, apple cider vinegar, cayenne, and honey are good.
