In the CJ's Eatery thread, it was suggested that the Brookhaven Market in Darien is an operation of Minos Imports in Arlington Heights.
I'm interested because Brookhaven Market is about to open a store in Burr Ridge in a recently-closed Boback's market. I can't wait.
The Brookhaven in Darien is an eclectic, multinational supermarket with an unbelievable range of foodstuffs from all over the world.
As I understand it, the same Group of Greeks operate two "Westbrook" supermarkets, one at 63rd and Cass in Westmont and another at 63rd and Woodward in Downers Grove (maybe it's in Willowbrook. These west suburban village boundaries are so chaotic I don't try to sort them out.) The Westbrook units are a little more Hispanic-themed, but they still have an astonishing variety of foods and liquors.
If these connections are correct, I'd like to learn a little more about the operation, since they're going to be my next-door market. They seem to me to run one hel! of a supermarket operation.
Thanks for any info and references.
