I typically don't use a generic stir-fry sauce and make it from the individual parts, e.g., hoisin, soy, chili oil, etc. Anyway, tonight I don't have my usual arsenal of Asian ingredients on hand and I'm wondering if anyone can recommend a bottled "stir-fry" sauce that I can pick up at Trader Joe's or a Jewel? I'm just doing a chicken/bok choy mix and I've got fresh ginger and garlic to go in it as well. Any and all suggestions are appreciated. My back-up is to use only soy sauce. Thanks in advance.

House of Tsang: Szechuan Spicy Stir Fry Sauce. A long-time favorite if I'm not going to make a sauce from scratch.

TJs has a variety of "simmer" sauces that are pretty decent.

Thanks for the rec REB. Got the last bottle of House of Tsang at Jewel and it worked great. A surprising amount of heat for a pre-fab sauce and not insanely sweet like many of them tend to be.

Glad you liked it. I always have a bottle or two in the pantry. I discovered it as a college student, when my diet seemed to consist of mostly salads and stir fries.
