    In the pursuit of something else, I bumped into this trucking website which provides a rather interesting and complete article on the transportation of tomatoes from the farm to the ultimate end product of tomato paste with lots of information in between.

    You have to give Mike Lowery Trucking some credit. These websites were developed to inform their drivers of the importance of delivering the crop in an acceptable condition. It also stressed the importance of using day cabs rather than the preferred sleepers to keep the gross weight of the truck under the California maximum.

    Most trucking companies would simply ask prespective employees (especially with the shortage of OTR truckers) if they had a CDL and DOT medical examination and send them on the road.
