Went there this afternoon. Everything looks new and shiny and their produce looked well cared for and chosen. They had proscuitto di san danielle and some very expensive balsamics.
I am also psyched about having a close source of intelligentsia whole bean right around the corner.
I was not overwhelmed though. Having been at whole foods earlier, Gourmet 47's cheese selection is lacking and made up primarily of industrial examples of "gourmet" cheeses.
Their product selection is maybe a step above dominics or jewel, but not really composed of artisanal ingredients. I mean they had De Cecco in abundance and a nod to a few artisanal pastas...but in the end the place felt more like Cyd D Pano down the street on Randolph than Fox and Obel.
Good neighborhood place, but not worth a special trip.
