Yes, the pastrami is pretty good, and the bread was quite tasty.

I've seen some pretty good prices on Romanian Kosher products at Kol Tuv on Devon.

The great thing about Kol Tov is there hours are a little bit extended when compared to the Romanian (at least around the holidays) At least this has been my experience when i need liver in a pinch and i am running late pre-yuntif

First time caller on Romanian chopped liver, raised on grannies chicken liver version I've never, until now, been a fan of beef chopped liver. You called the subtle sweetness, which comes from caramelized onions, loved the stronger beef flavor, liked the texture, enhanced by hard boiled egg, an all around winner of a liver.

I'm also a fan of Romanian's garlicky mini wieners and have used them to good effect a number of times for Bovine in a Blanket.

We keep a kosher kitchen and especially for holidays, we always get meat from Romanian! They have the best skirt steak and beef brisket. Haven't tried their hot dogs!

we too keep kosher - pretty much anything in their deli case is to die for - hot dogs, garlic dogs, salami, pastrami and the corned beef

I was going to stop in on Sunday morning for some garlic hot dogs. I also want to get some of those onion rolls, but I know RKS runs out of them pretty quickly. Do they have a new supply every day? Should I try to go to the bakery directly? Are they open on Sunday mornings? I can't seem to find any info about them.

The Jewel on Howard has the Tel Aviv onion rolls and Romanian garlic dogs. I can't recall a visit where they didn't have a good supply of either.

According to Centerstage, Tel Aviv's hours are

6 a.m.-6 p.m. Sunday-Wednesday; 6 a.m.-8 p.m. Thursday; 6 a.m.-5 p.m. Friday; closed Saturday

Metromix gives the same hours.

Another strategy I sometimes employ is to buy the rolls (and other stuff) directly from the bakery, and then buy the hot dogs from New York Kosher Sausage Shop (a grocery store down the block).

I believe they get a new supply of the rolls every day but it is limited - to insure that you get an onion roll I would go to Tel Aviv directly or as the other poster said your can check the Jewel on Howard they usually have a pretty good supply. For the hot dogs I do recommend going to Romanian's though Jewlel (and Hungarians) do charge a premuim for the opportunity to buyu the romanian delectables - on the order of $4-$6 per pound above what it costs at Romanians

So it's cheaper to go to RKS for the sausages and to Tel Aviv for the rolls, rather than Jewel?

Tel Aviv runs out of those onion rolls pretty quickly also. I don't know if they make them everyday, but I think a good percentage go to other retail outlets (like RKS). It is best to go early in the day.

last time I was at Romanian to get some corned beef, I was disappointed to learn they were out of rye bread. the kind woman behind the counter told me I should call ahead next time and they would be happy to put one aside. I'm guessing they would do the same for the onion rolls (which is what I would up with for our sandwiches)?

I was successful with both the rolls and the sausages- got the last 10 rolls they had. And a couple of cinnamon rolls- yum! Thanks everyone!
