Cleaning griddle

I recently moved into a lovely new house that has appliances that far exceed my cooking level. One of the first days cooking at our new home, a hot copper bottomed pot was placed on our Wolf infrared griddle. There are now marks on the griddle that I can't seem to remove. Any suggestions for this? Is this just a griddle that quickly becomes discolored?

I'm trusting on the vast array of cooking experience here....
