Later this aft, I plan to make my favorite soup: potage bonne femme.

As I get older, I find that I'm getting more experimental in the fruits/ veggies that I want to try. I was in an adventurous mood today at Hmart and picked up some jicama, daikon radish, yali pear, and fuyu and I plan to eat each of them raw in some sort of salad. Then, I also got some yama, green papaya, chayote, opo squash which I will lightly sautee with spices and/or make a curry dish with each. Yum, I'm so excited. This is going to be a fun and creative cooking week.

Last week at Caputo, I got some ridge gourd and two types of bitter melon which I sauteed with some spices. I've heard that bitter melon has some excellent health benefits including reducing blood sugar. However, it is an acquired taste but can be fantastic if cooked properly.
