I am NOT a big fan of Jewel or Dominicks but if you are having an emergency, the Jewel store listed below is open 24-hours 7-days a week including 24 hours on Thanksgiving Day. Good luck to everyone with their cooking adventures tonight and tomorrow! --Joy

All Jewel and Dominick's stores will be open at least part of the day on Thanksgiving. Also The Goddess and Grocer stores, Taste Food and Wine Rogers Park and doubtless many others.

Funny, I saw the subject of this thread & figured it would be a list of restaurants.

    HI,

Thanksgiving is not too challenging to find a grocery store open. Christmas is a completely different situation. You can only hope a 24-hour Walgreens has what you are looking for. Or go to Devon Avenue or Chinatown, because those are the few areas where it is business as usual.

If you want coffee and donuts at Dunkin' Donuts, it is closed.

In the past, Butera stores have been open on Christmas day. I know this from personal experience having had to buy an emergency box of salad croutons en route to my sister-in-law's house.

I would be willing to bet that their stores will be open this Christmas.
