Anyone have any idea what these are? They were left out in our suite, free for anyone to try. I tried a few of the cookies and they are some sort of walnut cookie, very sweet with a soft but chewy texture. However, I cannot read anything on the box and have no idea where they are from. I'm guessing they are from somewhere around Chicago and I was hoping one of my knowledgeable LTH friends could enlighten me. Post #2 - January 29th, 2012, 1:28 pmThose look like melomakarona, one of the most traditional varieties of Greek cookies. It would appear that they came from a bakery called "Iosifidis" located somewhere in Greece. I'm guessing someone brought them back from a trip?

FYI, only moderators can move threads. In this case, it was Santander who brought this thread over from EOiC to Shopping & Cooking. Judgment call, of course. The Wikipedia page for Katakolo says that it is a popular stop for cruise ships.
