Am looking to source 10-12 fresh, organic or free-range broiler chickens, organic dairy, including butter, buttermilk, and cream and 3 dozen free-range eggs. I can pick anything up in Chicago, but am willing to go toward Wisconsin and Rockford if necessary.
Finding fresh, organic chicken is proving to be very difficult.

    Thanks for any help.

Whole Foods, at least the one on Peterson & Cicero, sells free range chickens.

Bought a Bell & Evans Chicken at Mariano's today, was one tasty chicken.

Weber kettle, lump and one cube of cherry MojoBrick.

Gary - that looks good. Looks like you have herbs or spices on it. What'd you do?

Weber kettle indirect, Royal Oak lump charcoal and a cube of Mojobricks cherry. Didn't even brine, just sea salt, coarse pepper little fresh sage under the skin, lemon juice, olive oil and a good quality chicken.

Thanks. We used your miso marinade on a smoke roasted chicken the other night. Fantastic.

C&D Farms covers a number of farmer's markets throughout the city and will even deliver for larger orders--they raise their own pigs and have an arrangement with a neighboring farm to sell their chicken and eggs. I think they'd have you mostly covered on this--in fact, they are having a sale on some of their larger chickens this week according to their newsletter. You- can find more info here: http://us4.campaign-archive2.com/?u=1072d5ac96aa10c4fee89cf28&id=ddeb4e472e and here: http://www.facebook.com/pages/C-D-Family-Farms/128969597120280

Their eggs are wonderful and I'm a big fan of their whole chickens too.
