I was at the Marion Cheese Shop in Oak Park the other day and as I was buying some cheese, I bought a small orange and brown sealed package of candy by the cash register. I did not think to really look at the price it was kind of an impulse buy. After returning home and putting away the cheese, I ripped open the package to see what this mystery could be. I knew it would be chocolate and orange from the outside. It was a delicious candied orange slice dipped in dark chocolate. The thing is the orange was not just the peel but was a whole half slice including the flesh which came accross dried or candied. Very very good. Not too sweet but just perfect and hit the spot. I am wondering where to buy these delectable things in Chicago in bigger quantities. I saw something on line but they were quite expensive. It might also be fun to make these but I have seen candied orange peel but not the whole half slice of the fruit candied but I am sure it can be done. Any ideas on where to buy this? I looked at my Whole Foods but none there.
