So, as an amateur meadmaker, I'm looking for some interesting, little used fruits to make melomel with and this is something I've wanted to try. Only problem is that I can't seem to find them, fresh or frozen, anywhere. I have been able to find preserves, but they are stabilized and thus difficult, nigh unto impossible to ferment. Anyone know where I might find some?

Iceland? What about IKEA? Sometimes they have odd "northern" foods.

In Newfoundland, where they grow abundantly, they're known as Bakeapple berries. If you know anyone in Canada, maybe they could get them for you.

http://www.polaricausa.com/products.html sells them, but will cost $$$ to ship. Erickson's Delicatessen has frozen lingonberries but I've never seen frozen cloudberries in the USA. Only place I've seen cloudberries in stores is Canada and Sweden.

and Ebay has them. There are sellers both in Finland and Sweden who post to Ebay all the time. Hope this helps someone. These are rare berries, but even on Amazon I have seen them for sale. I think the problem is that the plant goes by so many different names.
