After its Milan debut in Spring 2012, a picture of this range and hood finally reached my home decor mag. The cooktop looks like a sleek, modern black desk with minimalistic burner handles. The hood is stealth- like hovering over the induction top. Gone are my dreams of a Harry Winston baubble, this is what I would spend my lotto winnings (if I ever played and won). I searched for a price and found none but an estimate of 50-60,000 british pounds. Has anyone ever seen this vision of cooking bliss anywhere?
What disease did cured ham actually have?

I'm curious about the La Cornue brand, as well. I just saw some photos of one of their stoves in a house listing, and it piqued my curiosity. Anyone know any specifics about how they work/cook? They sure are a thing of beauty.

They cook like a range. It's a "statement" item, not a miracle of technology. I worked in the high-end kitchen business years ago and the majority of clients interested in La Cornue didn't really cook but aspired to it. The clients who cooked stuck with "value" - if you can consider ranges in the $7,500+ price range a "value."

Thanks - very helpful. You have officially stamped out my intrigue with this item.

It's an amazing centerpiece in a high-end kitchen, much like an Aga (although an Aga is conspicuous consumption at its worst).
