I saw this get top marks on a recent ATK. While picking up orange juice at Mariano's I noticed they carried it so I figured I would try it.
At $2.99/lb it's pricey. I butterflied it and roasted it at 375 for 45 minutes. What a difference from the waterlogged birds! Dense flavorful meat and crispy skin. I can't get over how moist it was as well! I thought it might be dry due to no brining but the breast meat was perfect and that's from a die hard dark meat only fan.
A whole chicken was $12.50, about $5 more than the house brand. I tell you what, my taste buds are worth $2.50 any day.
