    Hi all,

I'm wondering if anyone knows of a source for fresh calamansi limes. We bought a small plant at gethsemane (thanks to a post in the Gardening section) but we don't get great sunlight in our apartment so it has yet to produce fruit (and we read it can take up to 2 years!). After our recent trip to Malaysia/Singapore we realize it is a key ingredient in much of the area's cuisine. Some of the recipes we've made since, most from James Oseland's Cradle of Flavor, would taste just that much better with a squeeze of calamansi. We found frozen juice at a local Filipino grocery store, but have yet to find fresh. Does anyone know where they can be found?

    Thanks!

I've purchased some in the past from Tai Nam on Broadway (in the Argyle neighborhood)...

I've checked there before but went today again just to see if they had gotten some since I was there last. Sadly, they hadn't. Was it a particular time of year?

Not truly fresh calamansi as requested, but the likely best alternative. I, for one, am extremely happy to have found it! You can find these packages of 12 individually sealed pouches of juice for a measly $3 and it is found at most Filipino stores. It's a product of the Philippines and is 100% calamansi juice... no sugar, no preservatives, no added anything! A product like this is so very hard to find these days. I picked up this package at 3 R's on Montrose.
