    Much obliged, G Wiv.

In an effort to be a pioneer, we stopped about midway between Sanabel and Salam, when I spotted a Middle Eastern grocer that had signage for falafel, hummus, and Baba, on the W side of Kedzie. Forgot the name, but it was tiny. Falafel were 25c each, sitting under a heat lamp, and they were out of Baba g, so, we got back in the sled and hit up Salam. Always solid. Tabouleh and baba g were fantastic, and the price was right on. The tabouleh, though, I think it stole the show - fresh and lightly spiced, perfect amount of lemon juice, not quite to the point of tangy. Might have been the best I've ever had, even though it's just a simple, silly thing.
We cannot be friends if you do not know the difference between Mayo and Miracle Whip.

Has anyone noticed a decline in the freshness of the pitas available directly from the Sanabel Bakery on Kedzie? Last time I stopped in, the breads were decidedly firm, almost stale. This time, there were fresh whole wheat pitas, but the white pitas were cold— the lady at the checkout explained that they were frozen and her drivers had not come back yet— not sure what that means. Is Sanabel giving their best to their delivery customers and not saving anything for walk-in customers? I’ll pass on making an extra stop.
