i don't see a dedicated thread on this local business, so i thought i'd start one. i only discovered this company sunday at the logan square farmer's market (which is a blast, btw). this was their first week at the market, and allison, the owner couldn't have been nicer. while pricey, i was very impressed with the quality of her frozen desserts. i'm not a big fan of chocolate ice cream, which is strange as i love most things chocolate. but most chocolate ice cream is made with cocoa, rather than melted down chocolate and i can taste the difference. and don't like cocoa flavored ice cream. so i was happy to taste r & p's chocolate with spice ice cream made with valrhona chocolate. and i bought some sour cherry sorbet, which seems worth the splurge at $9/pint, as it was like eating frozen sour (sweetened) cherries. a really awesome treat. i missed the chance to taste the cardomom orange sherbet, which other lth'ers have raved about and a caramel cashew ice cream. there's always next week..... justjoan
