    Hi,

Today I received an e-mail from a friend in Prague, who forwarded me a commercial from Australia. I found the source website, which has three different commercials. The one my friend sent was "Rock on with Red Meat," which is full of clever surprises.

I notice the filename for "Rock on with Red Meat" is "Stairway to Heaven."

    Hi,

I was somewhat disappointed when I checked the link later, to find my e-mail version was slightly longer with an important irony missing. Low and behold I found the longer version at a Korean website:

Rock on with Red Meat or Stairway to Heaven

This commercial campaign has been very successful in changing consumer attitudes:

Queensland (Australia) Government wrote:The revival in red meat!
Annual per capita beef consumption has fallen from 40kg in 1990 to 33kg in 2000, while chicken consumption rose from 24kg to 34kg (Sunday Telegraph, 26/01/03).

Recently, there has been a positive attitude shift toward red meat and its nutritional benefits. This can be largely attributed to the "Red meat. Feel good" campaign launched by the Meat and Livestock Australia (MLA) in February last year. Household consumption of beef and lamb recorded 2.2% increase over other meat types three months, after the campaign launch. More than 70% of Australians now believe beef or lamb is an essential part of a healthy diet. (MLA cited in Herald and Weekly Times, 04/12/2002)

A little humor goes a long way.

Beef is making a comeback. After decades of diners shunning steaks and burgers for healthier protein options such as chicken and turkey, Americans will eat an estimated 54.3 pounds of the red meat this year -- the first increase since 2006 and almost half a pound more per person than in 2015, according to data from the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
