Those are buttery, right, like townhouse or Ritz crackers?

    Regards,

Yes. But I don't like the taste of Townhouse or Ritz. The Club crackers seem lighter and buttery.

I can't believe I overlooked the cracker that we have been going through a bag every couple days here !

Pretzel Crisps. Specifically the original or the sesame flavor. The others like buffalo or whatever seem nasty but the basic ones are wonderful.

Watched the 'Mind of a chef,' on PBS last night.

A cook at Momofuko was making stock from pulverized shiitake mushrooms. The strained pulp was spread on a silicon mat, then dehydrated. The kitchen staff was marveling over the umami rich flavored mushroom chips.

Chang's good at that. The Momofuku cookbook also details that they use the sliced dried shiitakes used for stock in making soy-pickled shiitakes... which are awesome (there's a huge amount of ginger in them).

Re Keebler's Club crackers and others like them, I haven't tried Townhouse crackers, but we have some Ritz crackers in the house, and tonight when I tried some what I noticed most of all was how very sweet they are. They could easily be labelled and sold as Ritz cookies. Not that there's anything wrong with that ( ), but Club crackers are more straightforwardly buttery crackers, not noticeably sweet.

    Hi,

I like Triscuits. While I can eat the classic forever, I do feel compelled to try whatever variants they cough up. There is a rosemary and black pepper I am quite fond of.

I did identify a newbie I bought once and not again: Basil and garlic mixed with quinoa seeds. The basil and garlic seem dusted on, which doesn't do much for me. What I really don't like are the quinoa grains, largely because they get stuck between my teeth. I can feel the pressure, but cannot always dig the little grain out. It just does not work for me.

Trader Joe's rosemary raisin crisps! Can not get enough. Not inexpensive though!
I used to enjoy melba toast in the day. I should try again.

I like the club or townhouse crackers as well as Ritz but I find them to be too fragile to hold up. So I like Pepperidge Farms Butterfly crackers which are along the same lines but with a firmer crisp texture. I also like Carr's Water Biscuits. They have a bland neutral taste that works well with some toppings. And Mary's gluten free are good. I also like Triscuits.

Something about a Cheez-It that makes me weak in the knees. As much as I do my best to avoid snackage (Oreo-free for at least a year now), I can't pass a Cheez-It without grabbing one. Or twenty.

For the last 4 years, my very favorite crackers are Firehook. There are lots of good choices like Za’atar, Crunchy Hummus and Spicy Mediterranean but for eating with cheese, the original Sea Salt is my favorite. Thin, crisp and still quite sturdy.

Love White Cheddar Cheez-Itz! I avoid overindulging by doling some out for myself in a very small bowl.

I like Cheez-its the best. I like the original flavor the best.

I like the Aldi version of Triscuits and Wheat Thins. They are better tasting at about half od the price.

I bought the Aldi version of Cheez-It, tasty, haven't had actual Cheez-It in a while so no point of comparison. Also bought Aldi Triscuit, have not opened the box yet.

I want to like Aldi Niles, go once in a great while, but with Fresh Farms, Costco, H-Mart and, for that matter, Target, minutes from Aldi it doesn't seem worth the effort. FYI, Costco gas, line of sight to Aldi, is typically .24c per gallon less than neighboring gas stations.
