Does anyone on this board have a working relationship with any of Chicago's Middle Eastern bakeries? I need 45 or so dozen loaves of mini pita for this Saturday.

Trader Joe's has regular and Whole Wheat mini pitas - 1.99 for a package of more than a dozen.

I don't have a relationship with them, but I would be surprised if Al-Khaymeih couldn't meet your order:

    Al Kaymeih
    4742 N. Kedzie Ave.

    Best,

The folks at Middle Eastern Bakery on Foster at Clark can be very accomodating. They made cute miniature eggplant, cheese and spinach, and meat pies for me for a party once and it was very reasonable. It's gotten a little more upscale in the past few years but it might be worth giving them a call--I bet they'd give you a deal.

Thank you to all who responded. Michael, the good folks at Al-Khaymeih are whipping up 45 dozen for us at a very reasonable price.

(And nice looking Birria, too) :D
