Is there a candy shop in Chicago that sells a good-tasting product similar to York Peppermint Patties?

Somebody at my old graduate school has been quite helpful to me over the past few weeks and I'd like to send her a small token gift. Rumor has it she's a big fan of the Yorks, so I wanted to see if there's something similar and local I could ship out.

    Thanks for any leads.

Fannie May sells a dark chocolate covered peppermint cream product that come two to a "cup" and are quite similar to Yorks, but bit sized and a bit more upscale. Also, as a slightly more "old school" suggestion, Junior Mints are manufactured here by Tootsie Roll Industries, although that may not be the "touch of elegance" you are looking for.

Although it's probably not what you're looking to gift, Trader Joe's has some great mini versions in a plastic tub.

I couldn't find these online, but asked my wife to visit the store on Michigan Avenue. She found milk chocolate and dark chocolate candies that resembled mini-peppermint patties, but those didn't seem to match the description above ("two to a 'cup'"). The next closest candy was the FM "melt-away," which was a chocolate-mint center, not peppermint cream.

I preferred the dark>milk chocolate patty, but in the end decided to go with flowers. :?
