Where can I buy copper river salmon to cook at home? It looks like the season starts on Monday, so the fish should be available mid/late next week. I'm located in Lakeview, so would prefer semi-local places.

    thanks!

Dirks is your best bet. They were selling "first of the season" king salmon last week.

I recently talked to some of the sockeye distributers in alaska, and the synopsis is that the opening was VERY weak and that there are few, if any, fish to be had. The next opening will be soon, but at this point no one knows when it will be.

That's disappointing! I did trade emails with Dirk, and he was hoping to have some sockeyes this weekend. Kings were going to be too expensive to stock, but he's planning on getting some of those in future weeks.

If memory serves, SushiGaijin works at Dirk's.

I used to work at dirks, but I've been exclusively at Volo for the last few months...I still know a lot of the fish people though, they try to keep me (mis)informed..

    Pete,

You're playing the LTHForum home game pretty close, but not quite close enough. SushiGaijin no longer works at Dirk's, which he mentioned in a previous post.

LTHForum policy is if someone works, owns or is anyway affiliated with the place they are posting about they should make mention of that fact.

SushiGaijin has been exemplary in his adherence.

    Enjoy,
    Gary
