Been on a Cookbook kick, and also really enjoy the America's Test Kitchen show, and was wondering what the best cookbooks from that series are.

I already have "The Best New Recipe", and was not sure how much overlap there is in the others. Did notice that CostCo has the ATK Family Cookbook (the ring-bound one) for $19.99. Looked in it while shopping to make sure I wasn't forgetting anything I needed for beef stew, then came home and the same recipe was in my Best New Recipe book.

Do I have the definative book, or are there other's worth grabbing?

    Thanks-
    Jamie

There's a book of just side dishes that we really like. That and the best new recipe are probably the ones we use most.

I too enjoy ATK and the Cook's Illustrated cook books. You have the Best New Recipes; there is tons of overlap between the ATK series and Best series. I am reviewing my cookbooks and spun through ATKs Season 2, comparing it to Best. They were all in Best.

Your best bet would be to pick up a specialty book (like the sides) from Cook's to supplement Best.

    Thanks, for the info!

If you get a chance, try this season's ATK recipe (it is on website) for Chicken and Dumplings. Perfect food for thsi time of year :)

I have The Best Recipe from the Cook's Illustrated People (Probably before The Best New Recipe. I use it often. I find I can trust the recipes to turn out. A particular favorite in there is the Spaghetti and Meatballs. This recipe turns out a tender lovely meatball the likes of which I haven't found elsewhere. But there is lots of other good stuff in there too. Its pretty old now, I bet you can find it for hardly anything on the internet.
