I was planning on going to the gym tonight but instead decided to stay home, drink Manhattans and eat Fritos.

Salty corn flavor is so well balanced, perking thirst and deeply appealing to a Midwestern guy who refuses to believe corn is bad (pace Pollan). Because Fritos’ traditional format is sized smaller than a standard potato chip, one has more frequent opportunity to engage in the oh-so-satisfying hand-to-mouth action.

Oh man, eating and drinking is so much more fulfilling than working out!

Well done, DH! A Friday evening *properly* spent!

I note that those are the Original Fritos. Have you, like me, been tempted oncet or twicet by the chili version? and, if so, what did you think?

Fritos and clam dip. A combo to be reckoned with.

Cream cheese, 1 can minced clams, minced onions, Lawry salt, pepper, maybe a little dill.

    And Fritos!

    Fantastico.

I have had the chili version, which were okay, but as I knew I was going to be enjoying this bag with a bourbon drink, I didn't want the heat. Moreover, I prefer the original because I consider Fritos a kind of comfort food, something I've been eating since I was a kid (when they were quite novel), and so I want that reassuringly same flavor, again and again.

At Walgreens, I saw a bag of "Ballpark Nacho" flavor Fritos. Those do not sound good at all.

Exactly! It seemed to me that they were messing with a classic, one that didn't need messing with. Why gild the lily?

    "Ballpark Nacho"? puh-leese, no.

    Hi,

I fully remember singing along to this commercial. When I could persuade my Mom to buy them, I'd happily sing, "Munch a bunch of fritos, corn chips!"

Commercials today are so short and to the point, I found myself getting a bit restless waiting for this 1 minute 3 second commercial to end.

    Regards,
    Cathy2

Curiosity had the best of me and I did buy a bag of "Ballpark Nacho". Two Fritos down and the bag was handed over to a coworker. PLEASE do not waste your money.

When I was a kid I had a Frito Bandito pencil eraser (green) that I loved to play with, and still miss. It might still be in a box here somewhere.

My beloved mom passed away on March 20th of this year at age 88. She maintained until she died that the only corn chip worth its salt was a Fritos Corn Chip, fried in REAL corn oil.

Not only do I agree with her, I still miss her terribly.

MUNCH A BUNCH OF FRITOS, CORN CHIPS!!!!!
