For all of those interested, Australian-born Naomi Stepanek of Tipsy Cake is taking orders for traditional plum pudding this year.

I can't say much more about it 1) because it's still aging and 2) while I'm a fan of fruitcake, the beefy taste of plum pudding doesn't do much for me. However, if you are a fan or would just like to try it, Tipsy Cake's stuff is very good, so I'm certain this will be too.

Just put in my order. $40 + tax, which is a lot, but not so much really, when you consider the premium ingredients (probably two pounds of raisins and currants) and the disgustingness of mixing up the suet, eggs, etc.). Can't wait to see how it compares to my family recipe, though one way in which I know it will be incomparably better -- I won't actually have to make the damn thing!
