Just returned from the California bay area and enjoyed many sake and soju cocktails. One in particular included orange soda and sweet basil seeds. Anyone seen these seeds around in the stores?

Any other sake/soju cocktail recipes to share?

    FN,

I'd guess Thai Grocery, among others, carries them.

    Enjoy,

I bought a small pot with the herb already growing at the Hanover Park Caputos last year. Got very lucky and will try to look for it again.

    Good luck!

I wouldn't eat those, though. They are likely coated with antifungal and antibacterial preparations. But you could use them to grow your own.

    Hi,

On the Great British Baking Show, they had to bake a dessert without sugar. They could use honey, agave, molasses and such.

The Muslim woman made a low calorie 'jam' by pureeing blueberries and mixing in basil seeds for jam texture. She said the seed bloom upon contact with liquid. I have had beverages with basil seeds, which has a viscous quality. It never occurred to me to use it to replicate a jam mouth feel.

The judges loved her cake and this jam.
