Do any South Loopers or those who live in the surrounding areas know of any butchers and markets in the area? I have been spoiled with Lincoln Quality Meat Market, Paulina Market, and HarvesTime in the Lincoln Square area, and since moving I'm on the lookout for quality places like these. Any info would help.

    Thanks,
    Katy

Hopefully, as soon as Fox & Obel opens you'll have access to their truly excellent (and truly expensive) butcher counter. I dunno when they're opening, though. Once Whole Foods opens, also. But with fewer superlatives.

well, there is Conte di Savoia on Taylor - lots of great Italian meats and cheeses. Plus dry goods, including olive oils and pastas.

right in Pilsen, you can get some great Mexican ingredients and produce (especially produce associated with Mexican food - mangos, avocados, epazote) at La Casa del Pueblo.

    just south on Blue Island)

Haven't found meat or sausage like Paulina - you'll have to make the trip back up north. We also go to the West Loop for meat.
