Salsify sightings?

Post #1 - September 9th, 2007, 2:03 pmI'm trying to gauge the relative availability of salsify in the Chicago area. Has anyone seen any in stores, especially in the west and northwest suburbs?

Post #2 - September 11th, 2007, 11:01 amI've never seen it in stores, only at farmer's markets. I'd try Farmer Vicky at the Oak Park FM. She's likely to have some"The only thing I have to eat is Yoo-hoo and Cocoa puffs so if you want anything else, you have to bring it with you."

Post #3 - September 11th, 2007, 12:36 pmI don't recall seeing it recently, but it's a fall/winter plant so fresh salsify won't be harvested for another month or so.When I grow up, I'm going to Bovine University!
