Anyone know where to get Alligator meat in the NW burbs? Or anywhere for that matter?

Pappadeaux, a Cajun-themed restaurant in Westmont adjoining Route 83 just north of Ogedn Avenue, serves a variety of alligator, but doesn't sell the meat. The restaurant is in all respects excellent. Come to think of it, I believe there's one in Arlington Heights, too. Get the onion rings! :P

We had some alligator in Cajun country - where it's hard to find a bad restaurant - a few years ago, and weren't much taken with it.

I have had alligator at several church festivals in and around Lake Charles and Lafayette areas. I thought the meat was pretty good if properly cooked using a slow cooking method.

The last time that I saw it in the midwest was at Cleveland's West Side Market (25th and Lorain Ave).

I bought it once at Joe Caputo's in Palatine. Not sure if they always have it. It was in the frozen bin of exotic stuff near the fresh meats.

I thought I saw it at Caputos before as well but I called and they said they did not have it. Wether they actually looked or not who knows.
Thanks everyone for your input. In case you are wondering I am making a jumbalaya for Christmas. Hopefully it will contain the gator, andouille, and crawfish, plus all my special spices. mmm good.
