    Hi,

County and State Fairs have culinary competitions.

The State Fair has the Blue Ribbon Culinary competition running almost daily for a week with various categories: cake, pork, beef, pies, bread. The contestants submit their recipe in advance. If approved, then they come on the appointed day with all their ingredients, pots, pans, mixers and oven thermometers. The contestants prepare the product on stage, which is not very intimidating because there are not many people. If you win first prize, then you are invited back on Saturday to compete for Grand Champion against the other first prize winners.

    Regards,
