Hi folks --
I'm going to bake a sour cream pound cake with crystallized ginger in it this weekend -- and I was thinking that to dress it up a bit (it's for company) and to complement the ginger in the cake, it would be nice to make a cinnamon glaze. But I'm having a hard time finding a recipe for it -- does anyone have any ideas out there about how best to do it? I'm thinking I should probably get some cinnamon sticks and maybe melt down some brown sugar with butter and let the cinnamon infuse the syrup --and see what comes of it -- but i'm in new territory here. I tend to be a recipe cook -- not an improvisational cook. And I definitely want a glaze...not a syrup and I'm not sure how to accomplish that.
Any guidance from my fellow LTH'ers would be very welcome.
