Does anybody know a soup that resembles Campbells tomato soup - kind of a creamy soup, not broth-like - that doesn't have high fructose corn syrup or other nasties?

I was looking around Whole Foods recently, ended up buying Wolfgang Puck's Classic Tomato with Basil. It was a delicious soup, but decidedly a different style.

Just wondering if anyone else has hit a more similar and healthy product.

I've sworn off Campbell's tomato soup ever since I made a recipe that appeared in Cook's Illustrated a couple of years ago. The use of oven roasted tomatoes is inspired. I'll never eat canned again.

I'm generally pretty good about staying away from overly-processed foods, but this tomato soup is my weakness, my ultimate comfort food from childhood. There are a few times a year when I just have to have it so I always keep one can in the house. Sometimes I eat it as soup with saltine crackers and sometimes, like today, I mix it with spaghetti and parmesan cheese (although I no longer use the Kraft stuff in the green container) for my family's favorite "orange spaghetti."

I would definitely try a good, healthier substitute if someone comes up with one.

I've enjoyed tomato soup from Amy's Kitchen and Pacific Natural. Both are fairly rich and not filled with junk. I like to add cheddar cheese goldfish crackers.
