Long time lurker. First post, I'm tingling with excitement. No, wait, just needed to turn the heat on. Still excited though.
I love deviled eggs.
I hate my Jewel (Southport and Grace) and would rather not give them my money.
These two statements have led me to look outwards. Searches to the best of my abilities on LTH show only recipes and restaurants
(Violet Hour and Table 52) outside my price range of plausible gluttony. I know deviled eggs are easy enough to make, but ever since I had to use mayo in a gross sketch I was in a few years ago, the thought of cooking with plain mayo (or looking, or touching, or smelling) just kinda grosses me out, and I'd rather not. The pre-made deviled eggs they sell at Jewel are decent enough, but if I had another occasional source for this guilty pleasure, it would be excellent.
I'm hoping that some enterprising mom & pop shop/grocery store/deviled egg mecca has a version that some LTH-er has filed away in their memory. Bonus points for an independent operation that I'd feel good about supporting. I live in Wrigleyville, and I don't have a car, so would prefer it is el accessible, but I get out to visit family in Buffalo Grove sometimes, so north suburbs are a possibility too.
Really appreciate it, and looking forward to becoming a more involved member of the LTH-community from here on out. I'd say I'm losing my LTH-post virginity, but then I'd have to specify the exact variety of cherry I was losing.
