    Did anyone see the article in the Tribune about using a Himalayan salt plate to cook foods on the grill?

    After a couple of quick google searches, I'm mixed on the merits of this? Looks like Sur la Table has them for $40...

    I love to cook steaks, kabobs, fish on the grill and would love to do fajita type (skirt steak, veggies...) dishes...anyone with any experience or thoughts on this?

    Besides avoiding the dishwasher, leaving anything on them for too long a period of time makes for very salty food. For instance, thin sliced sashimi, which I've had served on that salt was ruined, but that would differ from a thick ribeye. You'll have to experiment to find the sweet spot for each particular protein you're going to cook.
