    Hi There!

Just a little post to see if its is possible to get good, fresh clotted cream from around the W. Chicago area (eg Fox River Grove) for an English tea feast with freshly baked scones and jam?

... because if it is missing, I might never be forgiven.

    Thanks in advance

I don't know about your neck of the woods...or for that matter about fresh, but I've seen canned Devon cream in the international section of some regular grocery stores.

Or you could try making your own. The substitute using Mascarpone sounds like it might work.

I don't know about fresh, but Jewel usually has it in jars. Also, Cost Plus World Market usually has single-serving jars.

British Accents (store specializing in foods of the British Isles) in Long Grove might be able to tell you if there are places that have it fresh.

Treasure Island also regularly sells it - in the cheese section

At least I have seen it, and purchased it, in the store at Broadway and Cornelia.
