My site is fairly new but I've got hundreds of pictures of Food I've eaten in Chicago and I'll be posting weekly :)

    Thank you for the interest!

I don't want to speak for thaiobsessed; she can manage for herself quite nicely. Nevertheless, after looking at your pictures, my sense is that she may have been asking her question a bit tongue-in-cheek. Your link is displayed quite prominently in each picture and it would be hard, if not impossible, to miss.

As a fairly new member, you may not yet be aware that there are actually a fair number of regular (even long-term) posters to LTH who also have food blogs. We're always on the lookout for great writing, photos, etc. But I think you may find people a bit put off by the fairly blatant self-promotion. By all means link to the blog in your signature. That's not a problem at all. But I don't think you'll be able to find very many of the thousands of pics posted here that have a link to their blogs displayed quite so...ostentatiously.

    Just a thought.

P.S. You may also want to check out the Random Food Pictures thread in Other Culinary Chat.

Get your specs out, Pops. I believe a somewhat closer perusal of my sentence will disclose the modifier "very many."

    Yup, what he said.
I apologize for the snarkiness. Welcome to LTH. But probably 1 link to your personal website is enough.

I understand what you guys are saying, but I'm using the same photos on this website as I am my own which are watermarked for good reason.

I have a food review website in Canada for almost two years and I have had a ton of problems with restaurants stealing my photos without permission for advertising and personal use. For this reason all of my photos taken with my professional camera need to be watermarked. The URLs that I use on my website are optimized for search engine optimization and will show up on google when the restaurant is searched under images. I won't be watermarking any other photos I have taken specifically for this website aka photos taken with my camera phone etc but I made the decision to watermark my photos last year and it's worked fairly well at protecting my intellectual property.

    Thanks for the understanding.

I don't blame you one bit for wanting to protect your IP. Still, using that large of a watermark and placing it, in some cases, right in the center of the image seems self-defeating.

As others have mentioned, a post like this is fairly out of sync with the culture of our forums but hopefully you'll stick around long enough to get a feel for how we do things here, and become part of our community, as well.

    Welcome! :)
